"Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal." 2 Corinthians 4:16-18

good times with good friends...

We are so excited to be back home again in our hometown!  All the way here yesterday, our kids could NOT stop asking us "how much longer"..."are we there yet"...you know, all the kind of questions that we as parents typically get so tired of hearing.  However, since I knew how excited they were about seeing their grandparents after not seeing them much at ALL these past few months...it was hard to be annoyed :)

Before we left Michigan, though, we were privileged to hang out with a very cool family.  These are some very good friends of ours (whom also have been our next door neighbors for the past 1.5 years at NTBI).  I have grown close to Enoch, whom I have been helping with language study for all 3 semesters so far.  Jae and Enoch have taken the full load of classes at NTBI, in a language that is not their own, and have had to work soooo hard to learn English on top of all of it.  They are great examples to Nathan and I of perseverance and faith!  (and doing so well with their English, by the way!)

We went out to Applebees with them, and Coldstone for dessert.  Yum.  Lots of good food and good times:)

Kaine is good friends with their son Urim.  They had fun playing with knives at Applebee's :)

And their daughter Woo-ah is Halle's age, and they are really good friends, too!  Halle comes with me to all my language sessions that I do with Enoch, and the 2 girls play so well together!  At Applebee's, they kept wanting to turn around and watch tv :)

Jae has always had a soft spot for Layla...he (and Enoch) think she is sooo cute!  (And with good reason, of course!  She IS so cute!)

So thankful for Enoch and her sweet spirit.  She is a wonderful example for me.

So now, we are in Indiana!

I wish I had taken a picture of our kids when we first arrived at my parents' house...they were swarming my mom, showing her all their special things they had brought with them, and all talking to her at once.  It was very sweet:)  Here is Layla, showing her all that was in her little backpack.

Kaine and my dad had fun doing "science experiments" last night.  Kaine loves this kind of stuff!  He didn't even want to eat a bedtime snack because he just wanted to keep doing science experiments :)

We are so happy to be back for 2 1/2 weeks and very excited to see everyone.  And of course, we are anticipating Christmas along with our kiddos :)
