"Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal." 2 Corinthians 4:16-18

a bittersweet update...

Well, I have some news about our cute little pigs.  Sadly a couple of nights ago, Bub passed away.  We were so surprised, because he was the one who was doing so well for awhile!  So now we just have Honey, but the good news is, she is doing soooo great!  She can walk now, and she can eat so much better.  She isn't quite so skinny anymore.  We have officially moved her to our garage where it is really warm for her.  She is really cute!  It's really sad that in just a couple months she will be a very big, ugly pig.  But oh well, we will enjoy her cuteness for now:)  So thanks for the prayers for this sweet little Honey!  I guess I should have asked for prayers for Bub, too, but oh well.  :)

Here is Nathan feeding Honey through the bars of her cage.  The baby pig formula is blue, so she gets it all over herself.  Isn't her bow cute?  (one of Halle's baby headbands)  :)

baby pigs

The newest additions to the Gateway barn animals are two baby piglets!  They were just born a few days ago, and sadly, their other three siblings did not make it:(  These two are also not doing so well.  The mother pig was not doing a very good job feeding them, so we have moved them up to our house and now we are hand feeding them around the clock.  The residents love them, and so do Kaine and Halle!

Here is our animal loving resident, giving the pigs a bath!  She is holding Bub (she named them), and Bub is the pig that is doing really well.  He seems to be gaining strength every day.

This is Honey.  She could use some prayers.  She is such a sweet little pig, but she is not doing well.  She is skin and bones, and she just shivers.  We are going to bring her in our house tonight to sleep in the warmth:)

Kaine and Halle were fascinated by the baths!

I am not sure what Halle is trying to tell Bub here:)  She was bossing him around like crazy!
Hopefully I will have good news about Honey soon!  I feel kind of funny asking for prayers for a pig, but it would really be sad if she died.  Thanks!

Chicago!

I just realized that I forgot to post about our Chicago trip!  So this is a little past due, but oh well.  Nathan and I took a trip to Chicago together about 3 weeks ago.  We had so much fun!  We did a TON of walking (and I foolishly wore flip flops the whole time--NOT a good idea when you walk that many miles.  I would not recommend it!)  Anyway, we went to Navy Pier, Michigan Avenue, and a Cubs game.  It was a very fun, much needed getaway for the 2 of us!

Posing in front of the river that goes through downtown Chicago

Of course, we had to try some Chicago deep dish pizza--yum, soooo good!

Here we are at Wrigley Field.  That was a fun evening, even though the Cubs did not even score at all!  Oh well, it was fun to be there:)

At Navy Pier during the day...

...and at night!

Thanks for a great time, Natie!  I had a great time with you--I love you!  And thanks, Mom and Dad M. for watching our kids!  We appreciated it!

Jenna:)

Jenna came for a visit this past week!  We always have so much fun hanging out with her.  Kaine loves her, too--you really can't even tell that he only sees her a couple times a year!

This is soooo typical of Nathan and Jenna.  When they get together, they can be so goofy.  I try to take a nice picture of them with their matching shirts, and this is what they do...

...and then they are cracking up so hard that it is hard to get a good picture out of them:)

This picture is courtesy of Aunt Jenna.  She spiked Kaine's hair and also taught him to touch his tongue to his nose--he thinks that's pretty funny!

Kaine and Jenna down by the creek behind Dave and Terri's house...looking for frogs.

Here is Halle being her usual sweet self (why is this underlining?  it's making me a little mad)

The two cuties:)

Grandpa Dave with Halle before she went to bed--she is so fun to hold right before bed!
Thanks for hanging out with us again, Jen!  We love it when you visit!  We love you!
