We joke around that sometimes, this feels like our motto! When we need to get ready for a flight to the tribe...we rush around to make sure that everything is ready to go, we zoom to the hangar...and then we wait on the weather :) Or, in this case, we pack up our house to move to the jungle, but then the helicopter needs a part shipped from the US! So we wait :)
Enjoying living on this wonderful New Tribes base...we will definitely miss it!
Lots and LOTS of soccer! Kaine is ready to play with the Maliyali kids! And I've been playing as well...lol! Poor Kaine. He usually gets stuck on my team :)
Preparing to move means lots of deep cleaning...
We've been buying tons of supplies to take in (four months' worth of supplies--its a ton!)...buying it, boxing it up and wrapping it for flights, getting it to the hangar. It's a big job! We're mostly done so it's nice to get it out of the way!
And...the beach. Oh, how I LOVE living five minutes away from this beauty! I love the beach, but I remind myself that we are moving away from this beauty and moving straight to another kind of beauty! Living in the mountains will be amazing, too! (but for now, we're loving the beach lol!)
Anyway, we don't mind the waiting. We know that God is totally in control of all of it--it's all circumstances that we certainly can't control! So we wait on God, and we know that HE knows best.
So....JUNE 16 is our new move in date! We all feel very good about this date, for many reasons. Although we (us and the Rimestads) are seriously so ready to get in to Maliyali and get settled...we know that there can be good things about being here in Wewak for three more weeks! So it's okay!
We're staying busy in the meantime! Lots and lots of team meetings with our coworkers David and Emily, finishing up our homeschool year, plus lots of homeschool planning for next year (yay! Having extra planning time has been a blessing for me!)
And for Nathan...he (and David) have had so much extra time to prepare for learning the Maliyali language! Figuring out how we will file data, getting familiar with all kinds of linguistic apps, and just figuring it all out. He has spent HOURS working on this, and I am so proud of his discipline and hard work! It will make it much easier to get started in Maliyali.
Also, we've been doing things on the internet that we soon will not be able to do. Kaine has played Risk on the ipad a few times with his best buddies Carter and Hudson back in Indiana...so sweet and amazing that technology allows this!

It's probably good to have the extra time for you to prepare. I think like you said, once you are in the tribe, you will really appreciate everything you are getting done now. Dad
So now instead of the first day of VBS, its the last one!! Prayers, L & P
We have learned that plans can change in a moments notice:) It's been good for us ever since you were at Gateway...lol. Anyway, though, enjoy another couple weeks in Wewak and of course, enjoy that beach!!! Love you guys so so much:) To God be the glory:)

Your attitude and flexibility amaze me Rache! God has most certainly equipped you for this!
So thankful you can benefit from the extra weeks even if you are a little disappointed!
