"Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal." 2 Corinthians 4:16-18

a rainbow birthday party

A couple of weeks back we celebrated Daisy's 3rd birthday, along with her good friend Sophie.  Their birthdays are about a month apart, and they have all the same friends here on campus--so Sophie's mom (my good friend Alisha) and I thought it would be so fun to have a double birthday party.  And it was so fun!

My wonderfully amazing sister Jill (and Aaron, of course) graciously offered to host the party at their apartment.  We had been planning to host at ours (because Sophie's family's apartment is a bit smaller)--but then I came down with pneumonia.  Yuck!  I was still planning to host the party, but Jill stepped in and insisted on doing it for me.  Thank you, Jill!

So here is Jill and me with our friend Alisha.  (Side note--can you believe that Alisha is like 7 months pregnant in this pic??  Alisha, you look great!)

We told all of the birthday guests to wear their favorite color of the rainbow, and we all ended up in yellow:)

And here are the two birthday girls!  They are so cute.  (and these are the best pictures I got--it is not easy to get a good picture of two excited young birthday girls!)

One of my responsibilites was to make the cake.  I found one online that I wanted to try, so I gave it a try (along with my lovely helpers).

We all thought it turned out pretty good!

We had lots of rainbow decor... (and another side note--if you notice a lot of these pictures are better quality...they came from my sis Jill's camera.  Thanks Jill!)

Alisha made chocolate covered rainbow cake pops...

We had a lot of guests!  All the kids in Daisy and Sophie's preschool class, along with their families.  Also, their beloved preschool teachers.

Me and my sweet Daisy.  She is soon to be 3, and I think I am in denial.  We are entering a new stage of life over here!

What a fun evening.  Thanks Alisha and Jill, for making it happen!

Looks like quite a party. It's neat the way you can help each other out. That will come in very handy in the jungle.
