"Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal." 2 Corinthians 4:16-18

Wedding in Mexico--#4

Part Four:  Uncle Kyle and Some Pre-Wedding Fun

On Thursday evening, we heard lots of excited voices outside.  "Uncle Kyle is here!!"  Jenna's kiddos hadn't seen Kyle for about a year and a half, and they were ecstatic :)  It was pretty sweet to watch!!

(Mine were very happy to see him, too!)

So on Thursday and Friday, we had lots of time to chill and just hang out.  The wedding was coming, along with all the festivities, but Thursday and Friday were more laid back.  It was a really fun couple of days!  There was lots of time for:

Catching up with old friends!  It was sooo good to see Seth again!  (And Todd, too...no pictures of him though...bummer!)  And of course, many others.  There are so many awesome people who work at CVE.

Hanging out with new friends!  Nathan and I really enjoyed getting to know Denver during those few days.  He is a really solid guy who loves all the kids there so much.

We watched a bunch of guys play basketball... (and Jodi!  Good job Jodi!!)

Watched a bunch of CVE kids catch a ton of frogs. There were TONS of frogs all around campus!  It is rainy season there right now, which brings out a whole plethora of creatures :)

including tarantulas.  Here is the second tarantula that we saw that week.  And those crazy kids caught it and put it in the frog bucket!!  Wow.

Nathan had some time to help out...(here he is, working on the house that we were staying in.  Installing a ceiling fan--and believe me, we really appreciated those!)

Halle and Layla liked visiting the farm animals nearby...

Time to hang out with cousins...

(Kaine and Fe)

(Perla and Halle)

(Layla, Halle and Mili loved playing in Mili's room!)

This is Belinda, Jenna's assistant in the house.  She is awesome with the kids--a very servant-hearted, sweet woman.  Thanks for all you did, Belinda!

Of course, Kaine loved playing soccer anytime he could!

Nathan also did some work in the woodshop with his dad.  Jenna asked them to build this arbour thing (which turned out AMAZING by the way...you will see pics of it later)...so Daisy and I visited Nathan in the shop here.

And just like the last time we were in Mexico, Daisy LOVED to watch the sheep!

Our kids also loved playing with all the other kids on campus...

We went swimming again on Friday (and then again on Saturday, too.  It felt great!!)  This time, the kids LOVED making a whirlpool by running around and around in circles in the kiddie pool.  It was pretty fun :)

Oh, and bonus:  this time Kyle was there to go with us:)

And a double bonus for the kids:  Uncle Kyle bought popsicles for everyone!

I helped out in the (very hot) kitchen...peeling lots of carrots :)  There were so many people who helped in the kitchen.

We had some fun meals over in the cafeteria type building...

On Friday night, Daisy just wasn't acting like herself at all.  She was waaaaay clingier than usual, and she kept crying, and saying "My starting to cry!  My can't stop crying!!"  It was so strange.  So Nathan carried her over to someone's front porch there on campus, away from the group.  She ended up puking in the grass...yikes.  So this was on Friday night, and we were supposed to be dressed and ready for wedding pictures at 7:30 on Saturday morning!  I was a little worried she had the flu or something...

Thankfully, she never puked after that, and no one else did either.  Many people told us that she was probably dehydrated, which makes sense with all the heat.  But regardless, I was praising the Lord that she slept well on Friday night!

The campus is simply beautiful.

We were very tired on Friday night, but ready for the wedding festivities to start the next morning.  Next up was wedding pictures!
